Laundry Stain Stick, Lavender Lime - 100% Coconut Oil Soap for Laundry and Spot Removal

Only 3 left in stock

This soap is amazing at getting out stains and general dinginess in laundry, and smells so good!  Coconut oil is a powerful cleaning oil in soapmaking, a general rule of thumb is to use less than 30% in a recipe or the soap may be drying or stripping to the skin.  This laundry stick is 100% coconut oil, with a very low superfat (extra oils to lye ratio to aid in moisturizing) so I do NOT recommend this for skin use!  It would work well for dishes, but I'd recommend using a brush that minimizes skin contact.  This 2 oz bar will last a long time, it is an extremely hard soap that goes a long ways!

To use on stains, I wet the fabric and rub it with the stain stick until it is starting to form a light lather (it doesn't take much).  I then give it a quick rub together, and leave it to soak for anywhere from a few minutes to a day or two, depending on the laundry in question.  For very stubborn spots, I may repeat this treatment, and I have been very pleased with the results!

For full-garment cleaning, I grate a small amount of soap into a pot of very hot water, and either briefly boil or simply soak the garment, depending on the level of cleaning needed. This would also work well as a booster for a washer-load of laundry - simply add a spoonful of grated soap to your usual detergent or powder and use hot water, or dissolve the soap ahead of time in a small amount of hot water and add to the load of laundry.

The ingredients are extremely simple - coconut oil, water, and lye (sodium hydroxide), lavender and lime essential oils, and a bit of borax powder added at the end for extra cleaning power and a bit of scrubbing action.
